Ashton Hayes Going Carbon Neutral
2007 Conference
Going Carbon Neutral
Grass roots conference for UK communities hosted by Ashton Hayes
Saturday 14th April 2007 at University of Chester
In January 2006 Ashton Hayes, a small Cheshire village (pop. 1000 approx.), set out on its journey to become the first small community in England to achieve carbon neutral status. This ground breaking project has already inspired many other communities to follow suit and also influenced Chester City Council’s decision to provide a personal carbon reduction pathway to each of its residents.
