March activities

28 March 2015: Thanks to all the families who came to celebrate the Ashton Hayes Earth Hour at the field. Our new LED street lights also went off to mark the event - thanks to CWAC for coordinating the switch off.

19 March 2015: AHCEC monthly board meeting.

13 March 2015: Roy Alexander gives talk to Cheshire and North Wales branch of the Royal Geographical Society at the Wilmslow Guild in Wilmslow plus competition in aid of Comic Relief.

10 March 2015: Visit to Ashton Hayes by Dr Tamara McNeill, Research Associate of The Centre for Enterprise at Manchester Metropolitan University's Faculty of Business and Law and colleage Prof. Susan Baines. They are examining social enterprise and are also interested in small scale anaerobic digestion plants for communities. February Activities

26 February 2015: Dr Mary Gillie to speak at ‘Powering Up North’ Community Energy Conference in Manchester. 10.00 – 16.00 (registration from 9.30) at Friends Meeting House. "A community energy conference for the public sector and communities; exploring how we can encourage and capitalise on the fast paced growth of the community energy sector throughout the UK, to harness and expand this growth in the North. Find out more.

24 February 2015: Garry invited to attend Pure Leapfrog's major event "The Transformation of Community Energy Finance" at Bloomberg, 39-45 Finsbury Square, London EC2A 1PQ 7-10pm. More details from Pure Leapfrog.

17 February 2015: Garry Charnock invited to speak about the project by Dorchester Civic Society. 7.00pm for 7.30 at the Dorford Centre, Top O' Town, Dorchester.

5 February: Ashton Hayes Community Energy CIC Monthly Board meeting.

28 January 2015: Garry Charnock attends Pure Leapfrog Trustee Meeting at Simmons & Simmons offices, Moorgate, London.

26 January 2015: Our project is 9 years old today. How time flies!

8 January 2015: Visitors from Whitbourne, Herefordshire - Chris Evans and Trevor Marshall (Left) and friend Jim Wigan from Tarvin (Right) meet at the Goshawk for lunch to share ideas with Alex, Garry and Kate on how to help Whitbourne Hall and village adopt a more sustainable lifestyle.

November 2014 Activites

27 November: AGM of the community energy company in the Parish Rooms, Ashton Hayes. Members discuss our plans for more solar PV in the village.

 

 

 

 

18 November: Garry is interviewed about the project by Marfuga Iskandarova (left) of the Small Business Research Centre, Kingston University, which aims to investigate the nature and level of innovation and entrepreneurship within community energy projects in the UK.
